My pirouette pointers.

I have always struggled turning whether it be ballet pirouette's or jazz. However I have found a few pointers which have helped me over the last few months...
- breath out... sounds simple but as dancers we some times forget to breathe out when dancing especially when doing a movement you struggle with. By breathing out, it will ground you and not only that you will be focusing on the breathing you will forget to panic about the fact you are finally nailing your double pirouette.
- Mindset, It sounds stupid but the more you tell yourself you can't do it you won't be able to do it. Remember it's a pirouette not the end of the world!! Don't be too hard on yourself.
- strengthen your ankles. This will make you more stable when holding a pose on one leg, including your pirouette. You can do this by rises and working through your feet. While your brushing your teeth do 20 rises.
Hope these tips work just as well for you as they do for me. Good Luck!! :)
